Construction workers with Road Work Ahead sign

The 2026 Road Project is here for the City of Marlow. Schiralli Construction, of Wilson, OK, was the low bid and received the contract for patching and asphalt resurfacing. The contract is for $640,176.32.

The schedule is tentatively set as follows:
Glendon Road between Caddo and the Softball Fields - Sept. 15 through Oct. 15, 2026.
Seminole Avenue between 1st Street and 9th Street - Oct. 15 through Nov. 15, 2026.
Scott Avenue from 9th Street to Dead End - Nov. 15 to Dec. 15, 2026.
Underwood St from Young to Nabor - Dec. 15, 2026 to Jan. 15, 2027.

The project will include over 3,750 tons of new asphalt.

The City commissioned a Street Inventory in 2016 and updated in 2023 in order to identify, categorize and organize streets with the greatest needs for upgrades. Routinely, and through aid of an engineer, streets are packaged to get the most repairs for the budgeted funds available.

Road Projects are scheduled every other year and are funded by a 1-cent Capital Improvement sales tax passed by residents in 2015. Over $2.5 million have gone to street repairs since 2020 when repairs began. Repairs have improved over 3 miles of the city's 42 miles of road.

City crews also spend the summer patching areas. This year, over 200 tons of asphalt have been applied to problem areas. Other projects are scheduled as grant funds become available.
