Free meals and snacks are available for children in Marlow every Tuesday at the Garland Smith Public Library. The library is located at 702 W. Main.
The meals are made possible through the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma's Summer Feeding Program. The GSPL is a grab-and-go site, meaning the meals can be picked up and eaten off site. Meals are available from 2 to 4 p.m. each Tuesday through the end of July.
Meals will be provided equally and without charge to all children aged 18 and younger.
"When school releases for summer, thousands of children lose access to the nutritious meals they count on. The Regional Food Bank's Summer Feeding Program helps ensure no child has to worry where their next meal will come from," said Stacy Dykstra, chief executive officer of the Regional Food Bank. "Good nutrition is essential not just for healthy bodies, but for bright futures."
This is the third year the Garland Smith Public Library has been a host site for the program.
The Summer Feeding Program is a federal nutrition program managed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and distributed through the Oklahoma State Department of Education.
